Carnation

This beautiful flower is associated with mourning and is one of the most popular symbols in Europe. Legend has it that Moliere died on stage with a carnation. This flower symbolizes the eternal love we have for the dead. Therefore, we, as a rule, do not give a bouquet of carnations to the living, but leave a place for ourselves on the tombstones, especially during All Saints Day.
