Masonic Sidewalk

The Masonic pavement is one of the most recognizable symbols of the brotherhood.

The floor of the Masonic lodges is mosaic; different stones are connected together to form a pattern in the form of a painting. They say that the floor in the temple of King Solomon consisted of black and white mosaic. Mosaic pavement designs in Freemasonry date back to the XNUMXth century. At that time, most of the furniture for houses was made from them. The sidewalk symbolizes the bond that unites all participants.

According to French Freemasons, the mosaic pavement makes members understand that they were once part of a Brotherhood that brought people together; therefore, preexisting ties need to be maintained and strengthened. It is also a symbol of care and providence. Masons are taught that it is a pillar of comfort and blessing that shows members how important it is to rely on God's divine providence.
