Aylm

There are two traditional Irish come ontski symbol of strength - Gift node (above) and Ailm. Symbols vary greatly in design, but their meanings are similar.

The Celtic symbol Ailm is derived from the first letter of the Celtic alphabet, Ogama. Ogam was a primitive form of written communication in Celtic history, and ogam was originally a group of trees believed to spread knowledge and wisdom.

Ailm is believed to be a type of coniferous tree or silver spruce. In ancient Celtic legends about trees, evergreen spruce was associated with the healing of the inner soul of a person.
