Black and white tattoos

Black and white tattoos certainly cannot be considered a separate style. However, unlike color tattoos per se, black and white have a fairly large fan base. We are talking about people who consider only black and white works for themselves.
The reason is both aesthetic and practical. It is believed that BW are much more hardy, not affected by the sun's rays and other external influences on the skin. Nowadays, black paint over time does not change color as much as it used to be, because the times have passed when any "tattoo" after a couple of years acquired a green tint.

In addition, the black and white direction covers several large layers.

The first one is inscriptions. Indeed, names, hieroglyphs, catchphrases in different languages, numbers and other calligraphic symbols are rarely depicted in color. Traditionally, these are just black and white images.

The second large layer is ornaments. These are the most ancient styles: island Polynesian images, Maori symbols, Celtic patterns, and so on. Traditionally, they are depicted as monochromatic.

Another serious layer - geometric styles: dot work, line work, black work... Of course, there are interesting exceptions when works in these styles are done in colored ink, but mostly these are still “black and white styles”.
