Editor's Choice: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Correction Pen Review

Color correction is a makeup trend that you have probably seen in video tutorials and on social networks of beauty bloggers. It uses color theory to help reduce the appearance of unwanted undertones such as redness, dark circles, blemishes, or general dullness. Applying pastel pigments to your complexion can seem intimidating - let's face it, no one wants their complexion to look like an Easter egg - but with the right approach, color correction can be beneficial for all skin types looking to hide imperfections.

With the plethora of color correction products on the market, from primers to concealers, picking just one for your routine is no easy task, but La Roche-Posay makes the process a lot easier with the Toleriane Teint Correcting Pen. These easy-to-use concealers are available in three shades to help cover imperfections, including under-eye circles, redness, blemishes and dark spots, and even skin tone. We've tested La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Teint Correction Pencils and are ready to share our full review!

Benefits of La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Correction Pencil

Toleriane Teint Correcting Pen helps cover imperfections with three shades of concealer. Enriched with the brand's favorite thermal water, this unique formula is paraben-free, fragrance-free, preservative-free and non-comedogenic, so even if you have sensitive skin, you can still reap the benefits of the formula. What's more, with the correction pen's portable packaging, making adjustments on the go is a breeze. You don't even need to bring a concealer brush with you!

How to use La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Correction Pen

For first use, rotate the bottom of the handle five times to apply a sufficient amount of product to the built-in brush. After you have applied a sufficient amount of the product, apply to the skin where necessary, carefully drawing the problem areas. Then blend the formula with your finger, tapping gently until you cover imperfections.

Who should use the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Correction Pen?

Thanks to its mild formula, Toleriane Teint Correcting Pen can be used by anyone, even those with sensitive skin. Choose from three shades—yellow, light beige, and dark beige—to help cover up mild to moderate skin imperfections. Don't know which shade to choose? We outline the benefits of each shade below.

Yellow: Yellow is the opposite of purple in the color realm, meaning that this hue can help mask the appearance of bluish/purple imperfections such as dark circles under the eyes. After a long night, use this shade to highlight and brighten areas of skin that appear dark and discolored.

Light beige: This shade is perfect for fair skin tones to help cover up a wide range of skin imperfections from discoloration to blemishes. Simply apply a dot or swipe this pen over problem areas for a more even complexion.

Dark beige: Struggling to find a concealer that matches your olive skin tone? The Toleriane Teint Correction Pen in Dark Beige was designed with dark and olive skin tones in mind. Use this concealer to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections.

Review of La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Correction Pen

I have fairly fair skin and deal with a range of complexion issues including visible dark circles, veins and redness around the bottom of my nostrils. So I was incredibly excited to try Toleriane Teint Correcting Pens to help reduce the appearance of these imperfections.

I first reached for a yellow pen, lightly stroking around the area under my eyes and along the visible vein near the temple on the side of my face. After applying the formula to my skin with my finger, I was impressed with how creamy and easy to blend it was. The appearance of my dark circles and that annoying vein was instantly disguised. It worked even better than my favorite concealer! So far, so good.

I then reached for the Light Beige formula to help hide an upcoming pimple and the redness around my nostrils. I swiped the formula down the bottom of my nose and streaked it over an undiagnosed pimple. After I applied the product to my skin with my finger, all visible signs of redness were reduced. On its own, the pigment provides impressive coverage without being difficult to blend into the skin.

Aside from the ability of Toleriane Teint Correcting Pens to mask my skin imperfections, I have to say that portability is one of my favorite aspects of this product. I'm someone who loves less is more, so when a product saves me from having to carry an extra brush, I'm absolutely thrilled! Plus, the brush on the Toleriane Teint Correcting Pen is precise enough to dot pimples while still being flexible enough to draw under the eyes or around the nose. Moral of the story? I will definitely include Toleriane Teint corrective pencils in my daily makeup!
