First tattoo - golden tip [part 2]

Have you already chosen the pattern you want on your body? Then it's time to make additional decisions. Below we describe what your next steps should be and what you should pay special attention to.

Choosing a studio, tattoo artist or tattoo artist

This is just as important a decision as choosing a pattern. Who will tattoo you matters! If you have friends who already have tattoos, you can ask their opinion about studying. However, this does not mean that you should go there too. Most tattoo artists and tattoo artists specialize in tattoos, have their own style that they feel best at. Check out their Instagram profiles and see if their work is similar to your dream tattoo.

Tattoo conventions are a fun way to see many studios, artists and women artists in one place., is held once a year in major cities. Then you can stroll between the stands and watch tattoo artists from other cities. However, we do not recommend getting your first tattoos at the convention, as the atmosphere here is quite noisy and chaotic. When doing a tattoo for the first time, you should provide a little more intimacy, especially if you are worried about this process;)

Before you sit down in a chair in a tattoo studio and get ready for a new tattoo, you should definitely meet with your tattoo artist or artist to discuss the design. Then you will see if there is a thread of understanding between you and if you are not afraid to entrust your skin to this person 🙂 If you doubt the correctness of this choice, keep looking!

Choosing a place on the body

So many possibilities! Do you want the tattoo to be visible only to you every day? Do you prefer it to be immediately visible? Or maybe it should only be seen in certain situations? The location of your tattoo depends on the answers to these questions.

It is worth considering your wardrobe here, if you rarely wear T-shirts, then a tattoo on your back or shoulder blade will be rare, and the same goes for shorts.

Although tattoos are becoming more and more popular, there will still be environments in which they are not welcome. When choosing a place for a tattoo, consider your professional career, whether, for example, a visible tattoo will make it difficult for you to get promoted. You can also change this question, are you sure you want to work where tattooing is a problem? 🙂

It hurts?

The tattoo can be painful, but it doesn't have to. It depends on many factors. One of them has a tattoo. There are more and less sensitive places in our body, you can take this into account when choosing a place for a tattoo. Be careful with areas such as the face, inner arms and thighs, knees, elbows, groin, feet, chest, genitals, and bones. The shoulders, calves and sides of the back are less painful.

However, remember that the choice of location is not everything. If you choose a small, delicate tattoo that will take 20 minutes, even positioning it on your foot will not be a big problem. More pain occurs with longer work, when your skin is irritated by the needles for a long time. Then even such a safe place as a hand will definitely affect you. In addition, you must consider your pain threshold and the condition of your body. If you are tired, hungry, or sleepy, the pain will be worse.

There are ointments that contain pain relievers, but never use them without talking to your tattoo artist. If you are worried about the needles being stuck in the skin, tell the tattoo artist about it, they will tell you how long it may take to create the drawing, what you might feel and how to prepare for the process.

Be prepared for questions ...

For your friends or family, the decision to get a tattoo can seem confusing as they ask questions and statements as old as the world:

  • How will you look when you get old?
  • What if you get bored?
  • After all, tattoos are worn by criminals ...
  • Will anyone hire you to work with a tattoo?
  • Will your child be afraid of you?

Keep in mind that such questions can be asked, whether you answer them and enter into a discussion, it is up to you;) If you are in doubt while reading these questions, think again about your choice 🙂

Financial issues

A good tattoo is quite expensive. The smallest and simplest tattoos start at PLN 300. The larger and more complex a color-filled tattoo, the more expensive it is. The price will also depend on the studio you choose. However, remember that you cannot be guided by price., it is better to wait longer and collect the required amount than to change the project to fit your finances. Also, do not skimp on choosing a studio, the most important thing is that the tattoo is done by an experienced professional in compliance with all the rules of hygiene and with a guarantee that in the end you will be satisfied with the effect.

Tattoo and your health

There are times when you shouldn't get a tattoo or you need to put off the tattoo for a while. It happens that mascara (especially green and red) causes skin allergies. If you have dermatological problems such as atopic dermatitis, it is worth considering doing a small skin test first. It is also safer to do a regular black tattoo without using dyes, black mascaras are less allergenic.

Another situation that should prevent you from getting a tattoo is pregnancy and breastfeeding, in which case you will just have to wait a bit longer for the tattoo 🙂
