How long does it take to get a tattoo?

Total tattoo time depends on the size, color and complexity of the motive... Large full color motifs such as a fully painted back are done for more sessions because long sessions of 8-9 hours are very difficult and painful (even for a tattoo artist). Normal tolerated time is 3-4 hours. Conversely, most small motives are created for one session, unless they are very detailed.
